Artist Bios

David Anderson (1952-2015) was an innovative animator who collaborated on renowned music videos, short films and independent projects in the UK.

Sally Cruikshank (b. 1949) is a beloved cartoonist and animator recognized for her unmistakable style, zany characters and psychedelic worlds she has created through a series of short films from the 1970's & 80's. For decades, she also contributed animated interlude sequences to Sesame Street.

Paul De Nooijer (b. 1943) & Menno De Nooijer (b. 1967) are Dutch artists as well as father & son who have been collaborating since the 1970's, working in animation, installation and performance, frequently exploring themes of alienation, absurdity and surrealism.

James Duesing (b. 1958) is an animator and educator. Since the 1990's he has primarily focused on 3D computer animation.

Peter Foldès (1924-1977) was a Hungarian-born artist who worked in traditional animation in the UK before collaborating on pioneering key frame technology for early computer animation with the National Film Board of Canada in the early 1970's.

Jan Kounen (b. 1964) is a French writer/director working primarily in feature films and television.

Cory McAbee (b. 1961) is a filmmaker, actor and touring musician based in NYC.

Darko Marković (1940-2016) was an animator and comic artist working in caricature & satire in Macedonia and the former Yugoslavia.

Suzan Pitt (1943-2019) was an internationally acclaimed artist, animator and fashion designer. In the 1980's she designed avant garde sets for live opera.

Paul Vester (b. 1941) is a British mixed media artist, animator and educator based in Los Angeles.

Dragutin Vunak (1925–2000) was a Croatian painter and animator.

Chel White (b. 1959) is an independent filmmaker, animator and visual effects technician based in Portland, Oregon.
